2012-2013
The purpose of the Klamath County Association of REALTORS®, Inc. is
to protect and
promote private property rights by providing resources, education,
and advocacy to its
members and the community.
Goal – KCAR will maintain financial stability, remain optimistic and
united, be well
informed about the industry, and remain ethical in business
practices.
Accountability: Board of Directors

Goal – KCAR will promote and support the preservation of private property
rights through
legislative and political advocacy.
Accountability: Government Affairs Committee
Strategies:
· Continue KCAR Government Affairs Committee
· Continue Government Affairs Coordinator relationship with RVAR,
Grants Pass,
& OAR
· Create additional relationships with other REALTOR® Associations
(e.g. COAR)
· Encourage political involvement of the members.
· Educate the members about the roll of KCAR in the political
process.
· Build coalitions with other allied associations & organizations.
Performance Measures:

Goal – KCAR will offer relevant education to the membership in order to
enhance the
professionalism in the industry.
Accountability: Education Committee
Strategies:
· Provide access to continuing education.
o KCAR to provide 54 hours of CE courses every two years.

Strategies:
· Promote a cleaner Klamath County.
o Clean up tagging
· Senior Assistance
o Snow Removal

· Harvest Community Garden
o Food Drive
o Assist in picking garden for food bank
· KCAR float in Snowflake Festival
· ODOT Road Adoption
· Identify one volunteer from each office
o Each volunteer will encourage their group to participate in each
function
· Utilize non-profit radio spots (PSA)
· Identify KCAR official photographer
· Make KCAR t-shirts for participating brokers

· Visibility in the community
· Public will see KCAR everywhere

Goal – KCAR will create an effective communication flow from KCAR to the
public.

Strategies:
· Website – weekly updates by utilizing MLS, NAR, OAR & other real
estate
information sites/sources
· Facebook – weekly updates by utilizing & sharing posts from OAR/NAR
pages &
other real estate info.
· Media – monthly print ads in Homes, Ranch & Business Magazine.
Radio & TV
coverage of REALTOR® community involvement & events (gingerbread
house,
food bank,)
· Newspaper reporting of positive housing trends/reports.
Performance Measures:
· Website/Facebook – page counter. Reposts, activity status updates,
“Likes”
· Media – client/public acknowledgement

Goal – KCAR will create an effective communication flow to its members.
Accountability: Publicity Committee & Board of Directors
Strategies:
· Weekly Update Email, consisting of announcements/events/info to
members.
Would include links to website, Facebook, etc. Updates sent same
time & day of
week in order to develop a routine (Unless URGENT, then email will
be flagged)
· Continue monthly MLS meeting committee reports.
· Create transparency for members by displaying reports, Board of
Directors
minutes, and the budget.

Goal – KCAR will promote to the public the value that REALTORS® bring to
the buying
and selling process.
Accountability: Publicity & Education Committees

· HRB Magazine, list of websites, & Facebook
· Social Media
· Radio & TV
· Develop Tag Line that shows the value of REALTORS® in the Buying &
Selling
process, and the Purpose Statement

Goal – KCAR will have 100 percent participation in RPAC and collect 60
percent of its fair
share.
Accountability: RPAC Committee & Board of Directors
Strategies:
· Continue to have RPAC Committee represented on Board of Directors
· Work on improving the real estate marketplace through positive
attitudes &
education
· Hold fundraiser that solicits dollars from other entities &
organizations
· Increases education & awareness of membership on benefits of
political action

Goal – KCAR will have 50 percent member participation for all functions.

Strategies:
· Continue building 1:1 committed relationships with principal
broker in each
office to continue flow of communication in form of reminders &
commitments to
member attendance
· Continue to have Presidential reminders to members as to the
commitment &
expectation of its members at start of meetings & events.
· Board of Directors continue developing 1:1 relationships & its
members to
increase participation of its members based on foundation of KCAR &
its
expectations of its members.
· Education Committee to continue to reiterate importance of
participation of its
members (No Voice, No Choice)
· Utilize Principal Broker Forum
